Message from the CEO Legacy of nursing informatics: Nurses and midwives have a long and rich history in health informatics. So, its no surprise we are receiving great commentary and input on the first Australian collaboratively authored nursing informatics position paper. The draft paper was co-produced by the Australian College of Nursing (ACN) with HISA and Nursing Informatics Australia (NIA). We agreed a position statement on the instrumental role of nurses and nursing informatics was long overdue. The intent is twofold. We want to be clear about the key domains of nursing informatics and we want to articulate the underpinning rationale for why nursing informatics is so critically important today. ACN, HISA and NIA want to make sure we have it right. We welcome and value your feedback as we continue to support your advocacy and recognition of nursing informatics capability. Please take time to provide your feedback before 21 April. You can find the draft paper and survey here.
