Nursing informatics - new national collaboration announced

We are pleased to announce that HISA, Nursing Informatics Australia (NIA) and the Australian College of Nursing (ACN) are developing the Australian position statement on nursing informatics.

"This collaboration and our strategic alliance with ACN is great news, as together we can continue the work NIA started in 1991 - advocating for and advancing the pivotal role of nurses and midwives in leading all aspects of digital health and health informatics," said HISA CEO Dr Louise Schaper.  "We encourage all input for this important and ground-breaking initiative."

If you are interested in being involved in the development of this work, please complete the EOI here.

Special interest group will build a HISA UX Network

As the success of this month's NSW branch event on patient experience and user design showed, UX (User Experience Design) has a large impact and growing influence in the future of healthcare.

HISA has responded and is working with members to form a new special interest group which will build a network of people who understand UX - what it is and what it isn't.

HISA member Associate Professor Chris Bain, a leader in the area says: "We'd all be in a much better place if systems were more usable and clinicians had a positive experience."
