HISA invites you to attend two feature HISA Breakfasts on 5th and 6th April in Melbourne and Brisbane respectively. Building off last year's Evidence Base Medicine Series, these breakfast events will explore the Future State of Clinical Decision Support. Clinical decision support is a rapidly evolving area, as clinical data and analytics tools become more readily available and sophisticated. Webinar - 22nd March.   Shape Australia's e-safety professional practice standard

It is imperative to reduce risks arising from incorrect, missing, incomplete and delayed health information. To contribute to this, HISA convened an expert group to begin the process of drafting an e-safety professional practice standard for Australia a year ago.

The draft professional practice standard is  now ready for comment and cons ultation. HISA welcomes input from members, the health informatics workforce, clinicians and organisations to strengthen the ability of our digital healthcare systems  to deliver and
improve  patient  safety.

The consultation will continue until Wednesday 20 April.

'Health IT - to lead or be lead' seminar & workshop

It has been difficult for clinicians to engage and participate in influencing the qualit y o
the data that they need to support their care of patients, for research and analysis.

By using a new clinician-led approach which involves standardisation and sharing o f  high quality, computable clinical data specifications,  the above is gathering momentum.

GeHCo are holding seminars in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne all through April. Click here to register with special discounts for HISA members!

HISA's favourite news story of the fortnight

A recent BBC news article highlights how 'marrying tradition with tech n ology can occur.'  It highlights how a simple necklace is protecting children by embedding a c omputer c hip within the baby's necklace which contains both  the child and mother's vaccination records.

Innovations like this show how technology can connect people even in the most remote of areas.
