Innovating Change in Long Term Care Homes Across Ontario
As the fight against COVID-19 presents many challenges in Long Term Care Homes (LTCH), eConsult has become a critical tool for providing care for one of the hardest hit patient demographics during the pandemic. As a result of the eConsult Centre of Excellence's efforts to implement eConsult in LTCHs in Ontario, they have received the following recognition over the past month.
Future Innovator Award Granted by the Change Foundation
The Change Foundation has awarded the eConsult in LTC Team the Future Innovator Award, recognizing that “eConsult transforms the referral-consultation landscape in long-term care, and it can be a game-changer in a new pandemic environment, where most long-term care residents will not have the option to travel from their home”.

Recently, an academic article was published in the Journal of the American Medical Director’s Association (JAMDA), demonstrating the feasibility of implementing eConsult in LTC settings.
