OTNHub Users Have Access to eVisit

Virtual care is a powerful tool in Ontario’s efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Phone consultations, emails, text messaging, remote monitoring and video visits allow care providers and patients to connect safely at a distance, minimizing the risk of community infection.

Primary care providers or specialists who currently have access to eConsult through OTNHub also have access to eVisit. eVisits (Video Visits) enable health care providers to connect to patients or other health care providers using video, no matter where they are located. With Direct-to-Patient Video Visits, patients can use their own electronic device (a computer, tablet, or smartphone) to connect with their provider through OTNinvite securely and conveniently, eliminating the need to travel to see their physician in person or through a host site.

New COVID-19 Managed Speciality Group


As a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic, OTN and the eConsult Centre of Excellence have created a COVID-19 BASE TM Managed eConsult Specialty Group.

This group enables physicians and nurse practitioners to ask clinical questions to infectious disease specialists electronically and receive a response within days. This is the only group that allows for population-based, non-patient specific clinical questions. 
For non-patient specific questions please enter the patient information as follows:
  • First Name: COVID19
  • Last Name: COVID19
  • Date of Birth: 1900-01-01
  • Select OHIP number not available
Why set your eConsult Priority Regions?

  • Setting your Priority Region to HNHB gives access to local specialists within the HNHB Regional BASETM Managed Specialty Groups
  • Without setting Priority Regions, cases can only be sent to Provincial Groups

We are always adding new additions to our HNHB BASE TM Managed Specialty Groups. These groups allow you to have your questions answered by a local specialist. To access the HNHB BASE TM Managed Speciality Groups, you must set your Priority Region to 'Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant' in your eConsult settings.

GeriMedRisk

Receive a coordinated response to questions regarding optimizing medications, mental health and comorbidities in older adult patients from a team of geriatric specialists and pharmacists


Using eConsult or telephone, GeriMedRisk provides rapid access to an interdisciplinary team of specialists (Geriatric Medicine, Geriatric Psychiatry, Clinical Pharmacology and Geriatric Pharmacy) to trouble shoot clinician's questions related to medications, physical and mental health in older adults.

GeriMedRisk will involve as many geriatric specialties (psychiatry, medicine, pharmacy) as needed to answer your question. You will receive both an integrated multi-specialty consult and tailored drug summaries or educational materials pertinent to your patient and question.   

To consult : Provide the patient’s clinical information and reason for referral through eConsult (Specialty or Recipient: GeriMedRisk), or by calling 1 (855) 261-0508 between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
