Dear HJT1 Families,

Please take a moment to watch this special video message from Dr. Smits, District Administrator. Dr. Smits will be retiring this summer after 20 years in the District.

In addition to this video, we also have several end-of-year reminders and celebrations - AND we even have some back-to-school information to share.

Thank you for reading. We wish you all a wonderful summer!

The Night Before the Last Day of School

Thank you to Wanda Schinner for writing this special poem for all of our students on their "Night Before the Last Day of School."

It’s the night before your last day of School,

And you’re hoping tomorrow is really cool.

The school year has gone by so very fast,

Now it’s time to say goodbye to your class.

Reflect on the memories that you have made,

And be proud of yourself to enter a new grade.

You can leave with a smile and a real big cheer,

Be grateful for friends and a great school year.

You can ride a bike or swim every day,

You can go outside and run and play.

Spend time with family, curl up in a nook,

Strive to learn more, and read lots of books.

Your teachers will miss you- that is for sure,

But summer will quickly fly by in a blur.

So, enjoy your time off and get lots of rest,

Be ready to come back and give it your best!
