District Administrator Search
The School District of Hartford Jt. 1 is in the process of hiring a full-time District Administrator with an anticipated start of the position on July 1, 2023. Support Staff & Teacher of the Year
The Board recognized Vickie Wegner as the Support Staff of the Year and Kelly Erickson as the Teacher of the Year. Congratulations!

Policy First Readings
Policy 0155 - The committee listing has been updated to reflect the current Board committees.
Policy 0167.3 - language was added to include all HJT1 parents such as parents of open enrolled students.

Employee Engagement Work Group Summary
The District established an Employee Engagement Work Group to identify areas for improvement based on survey results to better attract, engage, and retain high-quality staff to improve student achievement and success. The participants of this group presented the board with their recommendations, priorities, and recommended action steps.

Open Enrollment Applications for 2023-24
The Board took action on open enrollment applications for the next school year.
Contract Services with CESA 2 for 2023-24
Using the reallocated ESSER III funds for each school, the Board approved a CESA 2 contract of services for the following temporary positions:
- English Language Arts interventionist
- At-Risk teacher
- English Learner Specialist
Library Media Program Staffing
The Board approved a program update for staffing. The District will utilize an agreement for ten percent of the Library Media Director position from HUHS and hire a specialist in the District for daily services with students and staff.
Teacher Agreements with Hartford Union High School
The Board approved a shared services agreement with HUHS for the following positions for the 2023-24 school year:
- Spanish teacher
- Technology & Engineering teacher
Police School Liaison Officer Agreement
The Board approved a Police School Liaison Office agreement with the City of Hartford for 2023-27.
No Changes to Food Service Prices & Contracts
The Board approved no changes to the food service prices for the 2023-24 school year. Additionally, the board approved contracts to provide meals to Happy Hollow Learning Center, Peace Lutheran School, and St. Kilian School.
Ad Hoc Committee for Central Athletics Review
The Board approved the creation of an ad hoc Central Athletics review committee which will include Board members (Pridemore & Wilk), a Central staff member, and community and parent representatives.
Designation of Administrative Position Interview Personnel
The Board appointed staff to serve on interview teams for the following administrative positions:
- Curriculum & Instruction Director
- 2023 Summer Academy Principal
- Central Assistant Principal
