We are delighted to announce that Rosalyn (“Rose”) Jamili joined HK as Associate Attorney. Rose brings an impressive 22 years of family law industry experience to the firm, five of which have been as a licensed family law attorney. Rose’s familiarity with procedure and her involvement with hundreds of family matters make her a valuable addition to our diverse team of family law attorneys.
Rose majored in Pre-Law and minored in Peacemaking and Conflict Resolution at Fresno Pacific University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with highest honors in 2014. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor in 2016 from Golden Gate University School of Law with Honors in the Lawyering Program and has earned Witkin and CALI Top of Class awards.
She is President and Board Member of the Central California Asian Pacific American Bar Association, Past Chair of the Family Law Section of the Fresno County Bar Association, and a Mentee of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Rose has also been recognized by Super Lawyers/Rising Stars in 2021 & 2022.

Thank you to those who were able to join us for the February 15th Virtual Cinema event, hosted by Silicon Valley African Film Festival!
SVAFF presented a Virtual Cinema Café experience by showing Negro's Tea Time, a documentary about Race and the Afro-LatinX identity. The film is directed by Afro-Columbian director, Andrés Felipe Villareal Valencia, who attended live and offered a conversation on the topic.

On February 15, Director of Community Relations, Michelle Hoover and the 2024 Leadership San Jose cohort explored the topics of affordable housing, supportive housing and interim housing in San Jose.
While there is still much work and policy change to be done to address homelessness, it is inspiring to see positive momentum happening in our community.

In 2024, HK entered a partnership with the Silicon Valley African Film Festival (SVAFF).
SVAFF offers a celebration of authentic African culture that engages the senses and fosters community connections. Step into the world of compelling storytelling as filmmakers from over 30 diverse African countries share their narratives during the main film festival held every October at the Hoover Theater in San Jose!
We encourage those in our network to immerse in the vibrant atmosphere with not just films, but also a bustling marketplace, a captivating fashion show, and a myriad of cultural experiences.
The SVAFF draws attendees from around the globe, solidifying its reputation as a unique cultural phenomenon in the United States.
