On Monday, March 31st, we paused to honor César Chávez Day, reflecting on the profound legacy of this civil rights leader and labor activist. His unwavering dedication to social justice and workers' rights continues to inspire us.
We are especially proud that Constance Carpenter, Of Counsel, worked with the United Farm Workers (UFW) from 1973 to 1975—the very union Chávez co-founded to champion the dignity and fair treatment of farmworkers.
Caycie Favier, Senior Associate, fondly remembers her late grandfather’s favorite Chávez quote:
“The fight is never about grapes or lettuce. It is always about people.”
Reflecting on this, Caycie shares her perspective as a family law attorney:
"This quote has stayed with me throughout my career in this challenging profession. As family law litigators, our work extends beyond legal disputes over child custody, holiday schedules, or property division. We must recognize the bigger picture—the lasting impact on the families we represent. Our mission is to help clients and their children move forward, rebuild, and ultimately thrive. At its core, our work is, and will always be, about people."
| | Women’s History Month is a time to honor the vital contributions of women in all sectors, including law, while recognizing the progress still needed for gender equality. Rooted in early 20th-century movements for labor rights and suffrage, it highlights both achievements and ongoing challenges. At Hoover Krepelka, LLP, we’re proud that 84% of our attorneys are women, reflecting our commitment to diversity and the impact of women in shaping the legal field. This month, we celebrate the women leading, advocating, and driving change every day. | | Click below to read our latest articles, including the topics of "How Are Joint Loans and Mortgages Handled During Property Division?," "Dividing Rental Income from Investment Properties in Divorce," "How Attorneys Collect Social Media Evidence in Divorce Cases," and "What You Should and Shouldn’t Post on Social Media During a Divorce" | |
