We are delighted to introduce Stephanie Huang as our newest Associate Attorney! Stephanie, a Bay Area native, earned her J.D. at Golden Gate University School of Law in 2018. With over three years of family law practice under her belt, Stephanie brings a wealth of knowledge, dedication, and compassion to Hoover Krepelka, LLP.

Stephanie’s fluency in Cantonese will allow the firm to continue to better serve our diverse clientele, ensuring clear communication during often challenging times. Her commitment to making a difference extends beyond the office. Stephanie actively contributes her legal expertise as a Volunteer Attorney to the Justice and Diversity Center’s Legal Services Program in San Francisco, where she also received the 2022 Crystal Award for her volunteerism.

We are confident that Stephanie, who has been recognized by the Northern California Super Lawyers/Rising Stars program in 2022 and 2023, will continue to uphold our standards of legal excellence and client support. Her expertise, language proficiency and community involvement make her a valuable addition to our multicultural team of 23 family law attorneys.

Our team was privileged to be among the distinguished guests at the 2023 Santa Clara County Bar Association Judges' Night event held on November 1st at Blanco Urban Venue in San Jose.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Santa Clara County Bar Association for honoring Bob Hoover, the Founder of Hoover Krepelka, LLP, for his remarkable career in family law and his extraordinary 63 years of membership with the SCCBA.

We also offer our sincere congratulations to all the award recipients this year, and we extend our gratitude to the legal professionals who wholeheartedly commit their careers to the noble pursuit of justice.

On November 9th, Hoover Krepelka, LLP, made a meaningful contribution to the Domestic Violence Intervention Collaborative (DVIC)’s heartfelt farewell event at the Britannia Arms in Downtown San Jose. The Board of Directors, along with Constance Carpenter, Of Counsel and Chair of the Board, orchestrated this event to pay tribute to the DVIC team and Nancy Marshall, MFT, Executive Director and Founder, as they bring closure to the agency.

DVIC, a non-profit agency founded by Nancy over 18 years ago, was established to address service gaps for families impacted by domestic violence in Santa Clara County Family and Dependency Courts. Nancy Marshall served as the Executive Director and lead clinician/social worker for the entire 18 years. Recently, she received recognition from Legal Advocates for Children and Youth and the Santa Clara County Superior Court Dependency Wellness Court for prioritizing Domestic Violence in SCCSC.

As DVIC concludes its impactful journey, this event serves as a poignant moment to reflect on its legacy and extend gratitude to those who have steadfastly supported its cause.

On November 17th, our team gathered at Mission Peak Sportsplex in Fremont to celebrate the 40th birthday of Julia P. McDowell, Partner and Certified Family Law Specialist. Festivities included Julia’s favorite activities, including indoor rock climbing, ping pong, corn hole and billiards. Happy Birthday, Julia!

Thanksgiving is a time to remember that everyone deserves a warm meal during the holiday season. This November, we highlight Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen, a Silicon Valley nonprofit. Since 1980, they've been on a mission to provide nourishing, prepared meals to our community.

At the core of their community service is the A La Carte Food Recovery Program. Using refrigerated trucks, they recover and distribute prepared meals at no cost to areas grappling with food insecurity in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.

Their Prepared Meal Program is equally crucial, partnering with 65 nonprofits at 105 locations in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. This program delivers over 35,000 nutritious, hot meals weekly to low-income senior retirement centers, community centers, schools, shelters, transitional housing, and after-school programs.
