New Slate of HLF Board Officers Announced

At HLF's March Board meeting, a new slate of officers was elected to the Executive Committee: Becca Baas, President (pictured); Laura Chalker, Vice President; Curt Brosky, Treasurer; Melissa Federman, Secretary.

Becca Baas is an inaugural Board member, committing to the HLF Board in 2018, right after her family moved to Lakewood. She was eager to jump in to learn more about this community and to help shape the plans and processes that guide HLF's work in Lakewood. Becca notes, "I am eager to continue our grantmaking and engagement. We recognize that for residents and organizations alike, awareness, access, and capacity to address needs and priorities that support a thriving Lakewood are vital." She looks back with appreciation on the Board's ongoing efforts to intentionally engage with community leaders, grantees, and residents to inform how we learn and grow as an organization. Looking ahead, Becca and the Board's efforts will continue to be informed by the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA).

Board members are crucial to the grantmaking work of Healthy Lakewood Foundation and we express our thanks for their dedication to this work.

An extra expression of gratitude goes out to Khalilah Worley Billy as she steps down from the role of Board President. Khalilah's generous, thoughtful, and supportive leadership approach is greatly appreciated, and we are glad she will continue serving on the HLF Board!
