Dear Friends,
Happy August! I hope that you’re having a relaxing, fun, and safe summer. HLF is having a busy and exciting season with many new announcements.
At its July meeting, the HLF Board of Directors approved $180,000 in Community Grants funding to seven organizations. Please visit our website for a complete list of our funding with descriptions of each approved program.
HLF also welcomed its newest staff member, Sharon Schuldt, as our Foundation and Grants Coordinator. Sharon will be supporting all aspects of the Foundation's work - grantmaking, community engagement, and administration. We are thrilled to have her on board and hope that you’ll reach out to introduce yourself. She can be reached at sharon@healthylakewodfoundation.org.
We are also excited to announce the appointment of Rachel Williams to our Board of Directors. Please see the Board Update below to learn more about Rachel. She is a dynamic community leader who brings a background in organizing, health education, and school programming. Welcome, Rachel!
HLF’s Neighborhood Opportunity Grants process opens on August 14th. Please visit our website for information on how to apply and access technical support.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS: HLF’s 5th Annual Community Meeting will be held on September 20th from 7:00-8:30 PM at the Cove Community Center. We are so excited to share our work and progress over the past year as well as highlight grantees and their important programs and projects in the community.
As always, we continue to share information on resources and events in Lakewood that advance health and well-being for the community through these newsletters, on social media, and on our website. If you find these updates helpful, please forward this newsletter to a friend and encourage them to sign up on our Contact Us page.
