HMIS Change: IH Program Name Changes

Effective date: 08/13/25

Notice of Change Overview

This is an informational message for HMIS Interim Housing (IH) Service Providers regarding recent changes to the naming convention for Family and Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) IH programs in HMIS.

As part of the LAHSA Interim Housing (IH) RFP process for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 (FY 25-26), the Adult IH portfolio has gone through changes; projects were reprocured, consolidated, or renamed in HMIS. This is part of an effort to streamline shelter services, reduce the administrative burden on agencies, and improve tracking & reporting. To align with the updated streamlined naming convention, all Family and TAY IH programs have also been updated.

Changes:

On Aug 13, 2025 the Family and TAY IH portfolio were renamed to align with the new streamlined nomenclature:

Nomenclature:

Program component - population- program name - initiative (if applicable)

Example for Adult programs:

IH - Adults - Westlake - THV

Example for Family programs:

IH - Family - LAFH Cesar Chavez SPA 4

Example for TAY programs:

IH – TAY – Hope Connections SPA 8 – TH

Reporting Implications

  • All updated names to LAHSA reports will be updated.

Guidance for users: If any agencies internal reporting is dependent on the names of the programs, those will need to be adjusted. We recommend utilizing the HMIS Project ID as a standard practice when building out reports in Looker or unique scripts.

  • Historical Reporting: Any historical reporting will continue unchanged.

Service Provider Action

  • No Action items are required for users or service providers
