Message from our Principal

Dear HMS Families,

On behalf of Harding Middle School students and staff, we would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holidays. Please remember that Monday is the last day to contribute a gift towards the annual Steubenville City Schools Stuff a Bus campaign that will benefit local students this Christmas. We are asking for new toys for any age group to support the cause. Also, if you’re looking for a gift idea this Christmas, please stop by the school and order your Texas Roadhouse gift card with our logo on it. Harding Middle School will receive 10% back from all sales. The orders must be in by Monday, December 9th to guaranteed we have the gift cards back before holiday break.

December is a time to share weather-related school closings information. For your earliest convenience, we will communicate through our district school messenger system, radio and the local television stations to notify parents when there is a school delay or closing. December also signals the arrival of our Christmas break. All Steubenville City Schools will observe winter break on December 23 - January 3, and classes will resume Monday, January 6.

If I can ever be of assistance to you please do not hesitate to contact me. My e-mail address is  or you can reach me by phone at Harding Middle School, (740) 282-3481.

Congratulations to Mrs. Kalinowski's homeroom for being this years SADD Troop drive winners!!
Flu season is upon us,

Please remember that washing your hands with soap for at least 30 seconds can save you from getting sick. If your child has a fever, please do not send them to school until they are 24 hours fever free without medication. Please do not send your child to school until 24 hours free from vomiting or diarrhea also. And please make sure the office has an up to date working phone number in case we need you to pick up an ill student.

If you receive a letter from the nurse because your child has failed vision or hearing screening, please have the attached paper for the doctor filled out as soon as possible and return it to the office. The Ohio Department of Health tracks these. We want to give our students the best chance at a great education and future.

As always I am here to help, so feel free to call me.

On-line Report Cards
For this 2019-2020 school year, parents of Steubenville City Schools students will have to go online (Progress Book) to find their child's quarterly and semester grades.

SCS will be sending out a call notification to parents and guardians to remind them to check Progress Book at the end of each grading period.

Parents without access to the internet are free to go to the office to request the hard copy and one will be printed on the spot. We appreciate your support and cooperation.
