February 2020
EDUCATE - MOTIVATE - INSPIRE

Message from our Principal

Dear Parents & Families,

Happy winter to everyone. I think the cold and snowy weather has finally arrived. Although it may be hard to believe, we are more than halfway through the school year. The third eight weeks ends February 28 th and things are moving briskly. These next two months we will host transition days for our 4th graders at Making Memories in the Middle and also send our 8th graders to experience a day in the life of a high school student. These transition days allow the students to become more familiar with their new school, and help ease any anxieties.

This school year has been filled with many memorable events, and I know there will be many more wonderful times during the rest of the year. The teachers and students are working diligently in the classroom preparing for their upcoming state tests. Everyone is focused and working hard to ensure that all students are feeling success and that they are ready to continue their learning journey. I want to thank you, our Stallion families, for your support of our students and our school programs. Your participation in your child’s education and your child’s school make a tremendous difference. The staff and I greatly appreciate all that you contribute.

As always, if you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact a teacher or me directly. We are here to work together to provide the best possible education for your student! My e-mail address is  bmills@rollred.org  or you can reach me by phone at Harding Middle School, (740) 282-3481.

Sincerely,
Principal Bryan Mills

Message From Our Nurse
Flu season is here! Please teach your children to wash their hands well and often! Please keep your child home if he/she has a fever, cough, sore throat, vomiting, and /or diarrhea because it is probably the flu. Being seen quickly for a diagnosis will make the anti-virals work better. Flu usually needs 5 days of recovery time at a minimum to keep from spreading it to others. The student must be 24 hours fever free without medication before they should return to school.

7th grade shots:
Please check with your doctor with every well visit to see if your child is up to date on their immunizations. Remember 7th graders need a meningococcal vaccine and a Tdap vaccine. Please send in paperwork proving vaccination promptly.
Any questions feel free to call the nurse. Thank you for your help in keeping our students healthy!
