A Look Ahead To January

Dear HMS Families,
On behalf of Harding Middle School students and staff, we would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday. First, I would like to thank everyone that contributed to our most recent toy drive.  The annual Steubenville City Schools Stuff a Bus campaign was a huge success and will benefit local students this Christmas. Also, I'd like to remind families that the Steubenville Lions Club is holding a fundraiser.  You can support the club by eating in or ordering takeout from the Texas Roadhouse on January 11, 2021.  The Lions Club will receive 10% back from all sales. Please have either an electronic or hard copy of the flyer with you at the time of purchase.
December is a time to share weather-related school closings information. For your earliest convenience, we will communicate through our district school messenger system, radio, and the local television stations to notify parents when there is a school delay or closing. December also signals the arrival of our Christmas break. All Steubenville City Schools will observe winter break on December 21 - January 1, and classes will resume Monday, January 4.
If I can ever be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact me. My e-mail address is  or you can reach me by phone at Harding Middle School, (740) 282-3481.

BoxTops For Education
Download the BoxTops app to your mobile device and start scanning your grocery receipts for HMS! The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your school’s earnings online.

If you discover a traditional Box Tops clip on a product, you can still clip it and send it to school. Make sure each one you turn in has a clearly visible product acronym and expiration date.
Thank you to all of the families that donated to the ALIVE Shelter and STUFF a BUS! Your generosity is appreciated. HMS pride is city wide! Special thanks to the NJHS for bringing in donations and the Leo's Club holding the Urban Mission Toy Drive!
HMS Winter Sports
Remain vigilant with hand washing often, mask wearing that covers both the nose and mouth, remaining 6ft apart when standing in lines, avoid crowds, stay home if you do not feel well, and in general..... DO YOUR PART!!

  • Remember safe hand washing means 20 seconds of soap time at the sink.

  • Do not touch your face unless you know your hands are clean.

  • Eat healthy or take a multi vitamin to keep your immune system strong.

The old saying still rings true..."An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"
