Message from our Principal:

We are off to an incredible start this year and we are so thankful for the continuous support from our Stallion Family! Our students are doing a great job with both academics and behavior and our teachers are engaging the students with high-quality instruction in the classroom each day. Their growth is apparent and we are excited about the things to come.

As we move forward into the year, we know that communication between parents and teachers is increasingly important. Please make sure the phone number and email we have on file for you is accurate. We encourage you to check Progress Book regularly to get the most recent information regarding your child’s performance in the classroom. Also, we hope to see you at open house on Wednesday, October 19^th from 3-6pm at HMS. There will be Stallion gear on sale this day to purchase or you may place an order that will be available for pick up prior to Winter Break. This is an excellent chance for you to have gifts ready for yourself and family for the Holidays.

Tailgate and Parade

The tailgate and parade will start at Belleview Park around 4:30 pm. Hotdogs, chips, and water will be available to anyone in attendance. In addition, Homecoming t-shirts will be given away (while supplies last).

Steubenville City Schools SBHC will be offering flu shots again this year. You can schedule your student an appointment with Change, Inc by calling 740-284-5712 Option 3.

 All 7^th grader shots are due. These are the Tdap and the Meningococcal vaccines.  If an exemption is needed, please call or visit the main office for one. Please ensure your child is up to date with vaccines for the betterment of everyone's health.

 Vision and hearing screening will be starting in October. If you are sent a referral for your child due to them failing their screening, please return the physician referral sheet after seeing the doctor promptly. The State of Ohio tracks these also.

   Please remember that we have the Change, Inc School-Based Health Center located in Harding. You can schedule an appointment for your child to be seen during school by calling 740-284-5712 Option 3.

October is breast cancer awareness month. Please schedule your mammograms! Do it for your friends and family who love you!

Please see the photo for our am drop-off and pick-up patterns. This must be strictly followed in order to avoid congestion and dangerous situations for our students.

In the am...

• All Students must enter through the cafeteria doors.
• Cars will be signaled to pull all the way down to the personnel on duty.
• Do not stop and drop off students in the middle of traffic flow.

In the pm...

HMS will dismiss in the following manner...

1. 2:30 Bus students will exit the building
2. 2:35 Walkers will exit
3. 2:39 Car riders will exit

• The cars must pull into parking spots while waiting on their student after school.
• Please observe directives from staff on duty.
