DAILY DEVOTIONS

Join our Facebook Group (click here) for daily devotionals! We will be reading through the Gospel of John every day of Lent. We'll be posting scripture and thoughtful questions to help guide your lent experience.

I AM: Lenten Series

The purposes of the Lent are to deepen our appreciation of what Jesus has done for us, to grow our relationship with Jesus and to open our hearts and lives us to the transforming power of God’s love. No matter how long we’ve known and followed, there is always MORE to Jesus than we know.

We can’t think of a better way of getting to know Jesus other than listening to and examining what he said about himself. Therefore, throughout the season of Lent we will be reflecting on Jesus’ I AM statements, recorded in the Gospel of John.

THIS WEEK'S SERMON PREVIEW

John 15:1-8 | I AM the Vine | Pastor Wendy

The vine is the supplier and sustainer, the giver of life to all the other parts of the plant; the branches, the leaves and even the fruit. Jesus said, “I am the vine.” This self-proclaimed name for Jesus reminds us that we are dependent on Jesus, to be our sustainer and the source of all good things that come from or through us.

UMCOR GIVING | A message from Pastor Wendy:

  • THANK YOU for practicing what I preached! A few weeks ago, I preached about compassion, and it always moves us to act on behalf of others who are suffering. We provided multiple ways that you could partner with HMUMC and practice compassion right now. One option was an invitation to participate in a special offering for the United Methodist Committee on Relief. Specifically, to help support their efforts in responding to the devastation and recovery efforts following the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. You responded and put your compassion into action by giving $11,304.00! WOW - THANK YOU!!!
