Get ready for a BIG week

The signs of progress are all around us...  By now, you have probably spotted the crews, who are working feverishly to complete all of the shared spaces in the Honors College and Residences.  Just last week, we saw the addition of landscaping, a WeWatt or WeBike system that will power your laptops as you pedal, and numerous interior facade improvements.

Our scholarly home is looking great.  That means we're counting on each of you to help us keep it that way.   Sadly , some of our new furniture, delivered just last week, has already been damaged.  Please rememb er to keep your keep your feet off the furniture and be cautious with any sharp objects or drinks.

This week, we have a Visionary Hoop dancer visiting us, an official building dedication, and a can't-miss "Welcome Home" celebration.  Join us Sept. 10 from 9-11 a.m. in the Honors Hall and Fire Pit area to celebrate the new year.  All students are encouraged to attend.

Honors College student is newest crew member for "World's Largest Drum"

An enthusiastic spectator at football games, Matthew Cunningham was immediately intrigued by Purdue's signature bass drum.  The electrical engineering major longed to join the crew, but assumed as an outsider with no musical background, it would be impossible.

Still, Cunningham was determined and he found a way.

Reminder for Honors Student Leaders:
Your leadership & engagement workshop with Swift Kick's Tom Krieglestein is coming up Saturday, Sept. 10.

After a  failed first attempt  at creating his own student leadership company right out of college, Tom Krieglstein  knew he needed training on how to be a better facilitator and speaker, which led him to discover  SuperCamp  and apply.

At the same time, Kevin Prentiss sold out of his software company to do more meaningful work within education, and through a Google search discovered SuperCamp and applied. Tom and Kevin were instantly deep in conversations about what was wrong with education. Their focus, and passion, was quickly centered around the co-curricular side of an institution.

4 pm Honors Hall
