Michelle Peck received the Rosalind Franklin Society Award in Science for her team's Internal Validation of the ForenSeq® Kintelligence Kit for Application to FGG, published in Forensic Genomics. This award is presented to the best paper by a woman or under-represented minority in science in each of the 100 peer-reviewed scientific journals housed under Mary Ann Liebert Inc., and honors the legacy of Dr. Rosalind Franklin whose critical contribution to the discovery of the DNA double helix structure was overlooked in her time.

This award was granted to Ms. Peck shortly following her team's win of the ASCLD Forensic Research Committee (FRC) Outstanding Validation Award. Recently, Ms. Peck delivered a quick, ten-minute talk on her team's Kintelligence validation as part of the ASCLD FRC Lightning Talk Series. You can listen to the talk now on YouTube.

Our Center for Advanced Genomics team was well-traveled this summer, stopping in Oklahoma City for IHIA, Las Vegas for CHIA, Denver for ISHI and Washington, D.C. for the IHIA FGG DNA and Genealogy Summit.

These conferences are the most exciting part of the year for many of our staff, because they are able to share what they have been working on with the rest of the community, and learn from their peers and experts in the field. We are thrilled to be able to continue to send different staff members to these shows, strengthening our relationships and depth of knowledge across our operations!
