Our in-store technician is qualified and certified by all the major machine brands, and our promise to you is to get your machine back home with you after regular annual maintenance in 7-10 business days! There is a warranty on our work also. What I do see changing in the industry is a number of people advertising as machine repair techs. If you choose to go this route, please be sure to ask if any and all parts used in your machine are genuine parts from your machine manufacturer or if they are universal parts for non-specified machines. We use the parts that our machines specify and recommend. A universal part, probably made in China, is not made to the specifics of our branded parts. Neither Janome nor BERNINA use these universal parts because they are not made to their machines’ specifics. The named parts are not available for sale to non-certified techs. For example, I am a certified shop for these brands, and a tech from my shop, who has been trained under my shop’s name, is eligible to purchase these name-branded parts. A person trained in a tech school, but not specifically certified as having been specifically trained through Janome or BERNINA, for example, cannot buy parts from Janome or BERNINA. The universal parts from a non-certified, but fully trained, tech. will probably not work well. As a few customers here have learned: Not all bobbins are created equal!
