As we enter into the Fall season, many of you are probably pondering how COVID-19 will continue to impact and disrupt our daily activities, our business operations and our global economy. One thing for sure, with this new season – we will need to continue to remain optimistic, be agile and adjust as we have during the first half of 2020.

Supporting Students When They Need It Most
During the COVID-19 Pandemic many underprivileged students lost their opportunity for a safe learning environment and place to stay. CompuGain’s participation and sponsorship of the Boys Hope Girls Hope Golf Tournament 2020 enabled and provided 16 students of BHGH to return to their residence and continue their education.

The Government’s Contracting Database FPDS Reports Will Officially Move to beta.SAM by Mid-October
Users will no longer be able to run contract award reports through, though that site will retain other capabilities.

Welcome Danielle Izidoro, Who Recently Joined AstraZeneca to Manage the Supplier Diversity Program 
Please help CRMSDC to welcome Danielle Izidoro of AstraZeneca to the Council. Danielle moved from Brazil to the USA and joined the team as the Manager of their Supplier Diversity Program. In her new role, she will be responsible for helping to drive some of the organizations great supplier diversity initiatives that will serve to support diverse suppliers.

Danielle joined AstraZeneca in 2014, as a senior buyer in the Operations procurement team in Brazil. In this role she conducted various sourcing activities, including supplier relationship management and leading the dual sourcing project for packaging materials. Later in 2018, Danielle transitioned to Commercial Procurement and became a business partner for enabling categories. In this role Danielle continued to apply her sourcing knowledge in leading the commercial procurement projects, such as the Integrated Facility Management initiative. Danielle has strong knowledge of the AstraZeneca system and other data reporting tools, including SAP. She has bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Masters in Industrial Management, both from the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil.

A New Way of Doing Procurement Online in Prince George’s County is Speeding Your Way
The SBA is Accepting New Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) and EIDL Advance Applications 
EIDL Overview:
  1. Low-interest loan at 3.75% for for-profit entities; non-profit organizations are eligible at 2.75%;
  2. Term for EIDL is up to 30 years and there is a one-year deferral from date of loan approval;
  3. Loan eligibility is up to $2 million;
  4. EIDL Advance is $1,000/employee up to $10,000. EIDL Advance does not have to be repaid and will be deposited directly by the Treasury Department; and
  5. All EIDL funding is direct from SBA, does not require third party approval.

If an applicant has previously applied and their loan number starts with a “2”, they are encouraged to re-apply.
Applicants who have already submitted their applications will continue to be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Businesses are encouraged to apply immediately to ensure timely processing of applications and access to funding.
Pimlico Rebuild Still a Go as Stadium Authority Seeks Bids for Architecture Contract
The highly anticipated and long-awaited redevelopment of Pimlico Race Course and Laurel Park is moving forward despite the economic fallout of Covid-19. The Maryland Stadium Authority, which is overseeing the project, issued a request for proposals on July 30 seeking bids from architectural and engineering firms to assist with planning, design and construction. Submissions are due Sept. 14.
