May 2025

Greetings, Gwynne!

By opening this email, you are answering our invitation to engage and show your commitment to the Helping Our Women community and mission. So, simply reading our newsletter is one way to lead with love because the care and curiosity that motivated you to click through are the very qualities that sustain our HOW community.

Join me on May 11 when I present more reflections on "Leading with Love" and HOW's mission at the Nauset Fellowship, Chapel In The Pines in Eastham.

Last month, we shared a photo of the HOW team holding blooms in anticipation of spring. Today, it feels as though spring has arrived in full force, so I am sharing it again so you can get to know the faces and names of the people who you sustain when you engage with us by reading newsletters, attending programs, or finding other ways to connect with Helping Our Women.

With love,

Gwynne

HOW Community Spotlight

Meet HOW Client Member - Erna

“It’s quite an experience to get into your 90s,” our artist friend Erna from Provincetown shared with HOW Client Services Manager Cathy McDonough.

In the 1970s, Erna participated in consciousness-raising groups to amplify the voices of women living on the tip of Cape Cod. Decades later, the artist turned to HOW for help meeting her health and wellness needs and told Cathy that knowing HOW is there for her gives her peace of mind.

“I have no family here. I have wonderful friends, and I get by, but if anything were to happen, just knowing HOW is there, it is a good feeling. People get more lonely as you age because in your 90's your friends pass away, so for me, HOW is a way to stay connected. The difference HOW is making - it goes out into the world to make an impact.”

Erna is grateful that HOW is here to support her and others on the Outer Cape. Her journey with HOW is a testament to the power of our community, of which you are an invaluable member!

To help support women like Erna, please consider donating to HOW in the next 30 days - a $20,000 match fund will double your generosity!
