As summer unfolds, we’re surrounded by the beauty of change—blooming gardens, vibrant artwork in our offices, and brighter days. But not all change is easy. The recent elimination of our AmeriCorps VISTA funding, part of a broader federal decision affecting over 1,000 organizations nationwide, has deeply impacted our team and our network of partner organizations. Still, we’ve taken this challenge as a moment to double down on our mission to support the women we serve.
We invite you to celebrate this resilience at our Annual Community Gathering on Tuesday, June 10, at 5:30 PM. Sponsored by our ever-generous partner, Truro Vineyards, this event will honor our volunteers, recognize the first graduating class of HOW Peer Wellness Coaches, and feature an art exhibit from the Eastham Painters Guild—all in the spirit of connection and care.
Through every transition, our community remains our strength. We look forward to gathering with you on June 10 to reflect, celebrate, and keep moving forward—together.
In Unity,
The HOW Team
P.S. We have a few more hours left in our May fundraising challenge, where every dollar raised is matched by a generous donor. Please consider supporting HOW's efforts to serve the women in our region with the compassion and dignity they deserve.

Annual Community Gathering Event | | Volunteer Appreciation Party | | We had such a beautiful day celebrating our volunteers at St. Mary of the Harbor in Provincetown last week! We presented our annual "HOWIE" awards, enjoyed music from Sarah Burrill, and a special announcement from the Town Crier of Provincetown! Our volunteers are incredible and put so much love and care into helping our clients. We are truly grateful!

Jenna Howe - HOW Peer Wellness Coach
Jenna Howe's background includes three degrees from Simmons College in Biology, Psychology, and Neuroscience. So, the idea of becoming a peer coach seemed like a natural fit to her. As a practicing doula and the mom of a toddler, she’s had some experience in “holding space” for her mother-to-be clients and loved the idea of gaining even more skills through the HOW Peer Wellness Coaching Program.
“I like that it’s research-based with cross-over into psychology, but minus the diagnosis and advice,” she stated. “Leading with open-ended questions will help our clients come to their own positive conclusions. I like that.”
As a HOW Board member, she was excited when she heard about the Peer Wellness Coaching training because it was mindful and compassionate and seemed to overlap with her interests and experience.
Jenna, husband Dave, and baby Ivy live in Truro and Hadley, MA. When she’s not playing with her almost 2-year-old, Jenna loves cooking, walking on the Truro beaches with the family and their two dogs, and she also crochets stuffed animals.
