Happy Friday, everyone!
First I want to thank all of you who came out to the Luau Party last week. We had a fine time, with a highlight being the 'dunk tank'. I was dunked multiple times, as were Augusto and others. Augusto and Annika also showed they both had talent with incredibly accurate throws. More on the Luau below.
Tomorrow our hike team, representing HP and The Harbor Point Charitable Foundation will participate in the Dipsea Hike benefitting Zero Breast Cancer. Thank you to all of the members who jumped in to represent. you can still participate by sponsoring the team, with proceeds going to Zero Breast Cancer.
If you want to donate to our team and support a great cause, CLICK HERE
Whether you play tennis or not, consider joining us on the deck looking over Courts 1 & 2 on October 1 between 4-7:30pm, when we will have four men's doubles teams from the ATP tour battling for prize money (and glory!). This will be professional level tennis like we rarely get to see on our courts. And, you never know how high up the ladder these guys will get. Past players who have come through HP have broken into the top 50, top 10 and even become #1 in the world in doubles (Go Joe!). Don't miss the chance to say 'I saw him when...."

Luau Party = Good Times!
Good times were had at the annual Harbor Point Luau Party, returning after a two year pandemic break. There were pool games for the kiddos, a BBQ, giant inflatables dancing in the wind, and the new addition of a dunk tank, where various employees and members took turns dunking each other. All of the money raised will be handed off to Vic Seixas for his health care.
Thank you to Annika and Augusto for helping to pull it all together, and congrats to you both for having the best arms and aim of the day. These two were viciously accurate when it came to hitting the target. We'll work on getting you photos soon, but in the meantime, here is a video of me (finally) hitting the target (after far too many tries) and dunking poor Augusto..... :)

Youth ALIVE! Visits Harbor Point
The Harbor Point Charitable Foundation was honored to host Youth ALIVE! last week here at Harbor Point, where they shared their important work with various Harbor Point members and residents, as well as other members of the Marin community, such as the local chapter of Mom's Demand Action
Discussed were ways Youth ALIVE! helps in violence prevention and intervention as well as healing, through policy work, community engagement, training, guidance and much more. It was a fascinating look into the impressive and impactful work they do. It was also an important reminder that what happens in places like Oakland, affects other communities in the Bay Area, and that successful programs in places like Oakland can be replicated and expanded to help other troubled communities in the Bay Area and beyond.

|
To date, the HPCF has distributed over $4,500,000 in support of over 85 programs that advance our mission, improving the lives of thousands of children and adults in need throughout the Bay Area.

I am loving Gyrotonic, and Carla is just fabulous. It has made me stronger and more flexible from just a few sessions, and is gradually improving the way I sit, stand, and move. Very subtle and pretty amazing stuff.

The section below is dedicated to musicians who have passed away over the last week. When I started this almost 2 years ago, it was strictly musicians who died from COVID-19. I have since expanded to musicians from all around the world who have passed from a range of causes, though for many, COVID-19 is still the culprit. Most of these musicians are likely unknown to you, but they have surely touched the hearts and souls of many in their home countries, if not around the world.
I hope you take a listen and enjoy their offerings.
