Greetings Fellow Scots,
Thank you for everything you do to support our students and school. Incredibly, we have two weeks until Thanksgiving Break, and we are quickly making our way through the 2nd nine-week grading period. Please remind your students to check in with their teachers about grades and assignments and to attend tutorials if they need help.
Congratulations to our HP Scots Volleyball team. They are Regional semi-final champions and are headed to the Regional Finals on Tuesday. Please come out and support the Scots Volleyball team. They will play McKinney North on Tuesday, November 11th at Allen High School at 6:30 p.m.
This time of year it is important for students to put forth maximum effort in their classes, focus all of their attention on their work in class, and ask for help if they need help. As we approach the end of the fall semester, we want our students to continue to work towards and achieve their semester goals.
As always, please let me know if you have questions, suggestions, or concerns.
Thanks and Go Scots!

HPHS 10th and 11th graders took the College Board PSAT/NMSQT on October 7th and 8th . This test mirrors the format and content of the SAT and provides students with realistic practice experience to become familiar with the types of questions and test structure to improve performance on the SAT and prepare for their academic future. 11th grade students also have the opportunity to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program and other recognition and scholarship opportunities.
Students can access their scores at http://studentscores.collegeboard.com by signing in to their College Board account. The most recent score should be shown at the top of the page. They'll also see an option to See Additional Scores, where they can view all previous PSAT and SAT assessment scores. Students who have difficulty accessing their scores should ask their school counselor for help printing a copy of the score report.
Students should also check their College Board account for eligibility for the College Board National Recognition Program based on their scores and complete the required submission form for participation.

Highland Park High School will administer the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) at 9 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
Please click here to register:
ASVABRegistration
Registration deadline is November 20, 2025
*Testing will be in the Learning Theater*
The ASVAB is a heavily-researched and well-respected aptitude test developed by the Department of Defense. Students have the opportunity to take the ASVAB at no cost and no commitment to military service.
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is a complete career planning program, and it also provides an interest assessment and planning tools to help young adults explore career field entry requirements and various career paths, both military and civilian. ASVAB CEP test results are sent to schools so participants can explore career options with counselors. The scores report how the student performed on each subtest area, and how their scores compare with others who took the test. Participants receive three composite scores in verbal, math and science/technical skills used for career exploration, and the Armed Forces Qualifying Test (AFQT) score is also reported.
High school students in grades 10, 11 and 12 and those enrolled at post-secondary institutions can participate in the ASVAB CEP. Students in 11th grade and beyond receive valid scores for enlistment.
There are different strategies for taking the ASVAB, depending on which one your school offers. Click here for the ASVAB Fact Sheet with more details.
Please contact HPHS Counselor Shawna Jandrew with questions

FOOTBALL - VARSITY
Highland Park capped off its regular season with a 42-28 victory over Midlothian at Highlander Stadium, clinching its 11th straight District 7-5A Division I title and 60th in program history. Despite a sluggish start and an early deficit, the Scots (9-1, 6-0) erupted with three long touchdown passes from quarterback Buck Randall in the second quarter to seize control. Randall connected with Matthew White, Harrison Cullum, and Cannon Bozman on scoring plays of 55, 40, and 60 yards, respectively, giving HP a halftime lead they never relinquished. The defense made key plays in the second half, including a forced fumble by Beau Jones and recovery by Martin True that set up a James Flowers touchdown. Though Midlothian’s physical offense, led by standout receiver Brendyn Jackson and rusher Michael Archie, kept the game close, the Scots executed down the stretch with late touchdowns from White and Cullum to seal the win. Randall finished with 255 yards and four touchdown passes, surpassing 3,000 passing yards on the season, as HP secured the top playoff seed and a home matchup against Lake Belton on Nov. 14.
