Great news, Houston! Additional Neighborhood Libraries are scheduled to reopen by the end of the month for you to Browse & Borrow library items, use library computers or bring your own devices to connect to the library’s free Wi-Fi. In addition, Wi-Fi hotspots are available for checkout at these locations! Please check our website for hours of operation, as hours will vary by location.

Oak Forest Neighborhood Library is now open! Carnegie Neighborhood Library & Center for Learning, HPL Express Frank, Freed-Montrose, Mancuso, Melcher, Pleasantville, Ring, HPL Express Southwest, and Vinson Neighborhood Libraries will reopen Tuesday, June 29th!

You can schedule an appointment to use interview rooms at any of the participating locations by calling the library or reserving a room online.

All three (3) Special Collections libraries are open! Walk-ins are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis.

TECHLink is a multimedia and technology center, an innovative and transformative extension of the library's program of services to provide free and equitable access to new and emerging state-of-the-art technologies. Please call one of our TECHLink locations for more information or to schedule your appointment, (no appointment needed after July 1st).

Important Safety Measures
For your protection, libraries have implemented the following safety measures:

  • Temperature screening for anyone age two (2) years and up prior to entering the library.
  • Physical distancing of at least six (6) feet between customers and staff must be maintained at all times.
  • Masks are encouraged, but not required.
  • Hand sanitizing stations are available for customers to use.
  • Computer stations will be sanitized by staff after each use.

If you need computer assistance, you may bring one (1) person to help during your session. For the safety of customers and staff, one-on-one computer assistance is not available at this time.
