Hartford Public Library will increase its programs and services to teens this summer through a generous grant from Imagineers LLC, a Connecticut-based housing services company that manages condominiums, rental property, and housing programs.

The $50,000 gift will specifically help the Library’s Teen Services team’s effort to build a comprehensive creative arts, digital literacy and gaming program that will be implemented at the Downtown Library and then through YOUmedia at the Albany Library.

On Mondays and Thursdays, we'll have story time. On Wednesdays, we'll have a story in Spanish. Tuesdays and Fridays we'll have crafts and other educational activities.

Julie Styles, manager of public services at the Downtown Library, has made her latest foray into the HPL's cookbook collection, this time tackling lemony Greek potatoes with crispy Greek chicken thighs from T he Defined Dish: Healthy and Wholesome Weeknight Recipes by Alex Snodgrass.

We are excited about the return of OverDrive – borrow and read free ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines from HPL using your phone or tablet.

Our Overdrive collection is returning with 800 new titles. Since March, we’ve added 1500 new titles to our e-book and e-audiobook collections, with new titles added weekly.
