Better Late than Never - 2018/19 PTO Recap
We finally took a quick break from summering to look back at the year and wow, we feel a tired just reliving it. Well done everyone, hope you are now enjoying some rest! The school year seems to be filled with great events, lots of fundraising efforts, etc and the overall picture isn't always shared so here it is....a pie chart and some words! Please check it out and know that through big and small efforts by all, we all help create the wonderful school that is HPS.
(If you no longer have a child at HPS and don't want weekly updates of 19/20 school year please use the unsubscribe button at the bottom...after admiring the pie chart of course!)

We wanted to thank our HPS community for all that went into making this such a successful school year! With your generous donations of both time and funds, we as a PTO were able to invest greatly into Hyde Park School. Without your support none of this is possible.
Our main areas of focus this year were the following:
*Educational Enrichment *Learning Experience *HPS Staff Support
*Classroom Support *Funding Harmony Park Playground Expansion
Here's just a few of the larger programs PTO funded this year.......
EDUCATIONAL ENRICHMENT

- 2nd grade - The Cincinnati Zoo
- 3rd grade - COSI & Busses for the Cincinnati Zoo and Museum Center trips
- 4th grade - Ft. Ancient, River Reach & Queen City Underground Tour
- 5th grade - iSpace Inc & Pizza / Kona Ice for the last day of School
- 6th grade- Camp Kern
Additional programs funded are the HPS Library, Guest Speakers, Extracurricular Activity Scholarships, Technology Program Subscriptions
COMMUNITY BUILDING
New Family Picnic, Ice Cream Social, Field Day, End of Year Picnic
HPS STAFF SUPPORT

Hyde Park Athletics Website
As many of you know, we launched a new registration platform and began using it during the Fall 2019 Registration process. Thank you for your patience as we work through the learning curve. Moving forward, all things athletics will be posted to
https://www.hydeparkschoolathletics.org/
, including access to all future registrations. While the site is still under construction, it can be accessed today and will be added to constantly. Parents and coaches can find a ton of valuable information, including program summaries, documents and files, Booster information, important calendar updates, etc. When sport teams are created for any season, the site will automatically create a page that the coach can manage and use to communicate to their parents. This also includes a mobile friendly version that can be access using Sports Engine mobile app. More to come as we roll into the fall season, but bookmark
https://www.hydeparkschoolathletics.org/
now and visit often.
Volleyball Registration
We currently have two full teams in our 5
th
/6
th
grade division, but are looking for a few more participants at the 3
rd
/4
th
grade level. If you are interested and have questions, please contact me directly. Otherwise, feel free to register today. In the case we come up short, there may be an opportunity for a select few 2
nd
graders who are interested in playing to “play up” a division this fall. BE WARNED: We are still in search of a 3
rd
/4
th
grade coach! If you are currently registered or plan to register, you are fair game for me to harass!! = ) No coach, no team!
HPS Soccer Camp
As a reminder, the Jack Hermans HPS Soccer Camp is just two weeks away. All those registered will receive an email notification with additional details about location, what to expect, and what to bring. Go Eagles!
Booster Membership
Booster Membership for the 2019/2020 school year will open soon! You will be able to signup on the website at
https://www.hydeparkschoolathletics.org/
. Booster Membership is only $30 per year and is a huge part of our progress over the last 12 months. Along with our fundraisers and corporate donations, membership provides the financial ability to support our existing programs, add new programs, keep registration costs low, and purchase new equipment and uniforms. Speaking of new uniforms; as many of you already know, we will be issuing new soccer uniforms this Fall at zero cost to the participants. Be on the lookout for a Facebook announcement regarding uniform selection!
More Improvements Coming!
HPS Athletics doesn’t like to sit still! And so, more improvements are coming. While the project is currently classified as top secret, know that our HPS pride will become even more visible when school resumes. Thank you to the Booster Board and all athletic supporters for allowing this project to move forward. See you on August 19
