Volunteer Opportunities
Restaurant Night Coordinator Needed

Local restaurants are often willing to partner with us to do a fundraising night to help fund all the fabulous things that the PTO does. We are looking for someone to contact local restaurants to setup up approximately one fundraising night per month at various venues. Once a date and "deal" is agreed upon, a flyer is created to send home with students...that's about it! Eat out, make money for the school...everyone likes a WIN-WIN!

We still need some classroom coordinators!!

One of the things that makes HPS so great is our dedicated volunteers! Our HPS Room Coordinators provide a channel of communication between parents and teachers. These parents are a part of the classroom environment in the following areas: Organize class parties, act as the room basket lead for Spring Celebration, aid in teacher celebration, and assist in any teacher special requests. You are the front line for parents and we thank you in advance for stepping up to do this!
Any questions about the role can be sent to Caroline Seale   cbseale@gmail.com.

HPS Library

The HPS lending library will be opening in the next few weeks in the mornings between 7:30-7:45. Children are allowed to borrow 2 books at a time. The lending library is staffed by parent volunteers and we could use your help!
- Helping children check out books before school
- Ordering and processing books
- Sorting through all of our donated books. We have a lot we need to go through.

Please contact Maggie Mucha ( maggiemucha@gmail.com ) if you can help

General Information
Drop Off/ Pick Up Procedures

IMPORTANT: Please review and help create a safe and efficient start/end of each day!
  • Cars are prohibited from pulling up along the bus lane on Observatory to drop off students.
  • DO NOT begin the pick up line before 2:00 pm. Students are dismissed at 2:15 pm. An early line extends onto the street and causes major traffic problems on Edwards Rd.
  • Please refrain from using your phone while waiting in line. You may not notice a child near your slowly moving car.
  • Do not get out of your car during any part of car line. Our staff will assist your students entering and exiting the vehicle. Pull forward and proceed to the exit as soon as your vehicle doors have been closed. We want to keep the car line moving.
  • We know the line is long and slow. Please consider using the yellow bus if this is an option for your family. (More than one mile from school.)
  • If there is a need to park your car in the lot and walk your child into the building, please monitor your child closely and teach them to be aware of the moving cars.
  • When you choose not to use the car line, and drop your child off from a nearby street, it is extremely important that they exit the car at the curb, use the sidewalk, and cross any streets at the crosswalk.

Play Yard Update

It is such a joy to see all the kids enjoying the AMAZING new playground and play yard. Please review the following rules and remind your kids so we can all enjoy the space for many years to come!
  • Play area closes at dusk.
  • No bike riding, rollerblading, skateboarding, or scooters.
  • No pets allowed.
  • Stay out of mulched planting beds.
  • Please use trash cans and help us keep the playground clean.
  • Please stay clear of any area marked by CAUTION tape...it will be used when the new sod is too wet or the paint is curing on the sports court!
