Help Us Make Happy Hyde Park even HAPPIER...

A group of parents from the Hyde Park School PTO, Local School Decision-Making Committee (LSDMC), and Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) have reached out to the Cincinnati Public Schools Board of Education about the need for more space and updated facilities at our school. We submitted a letter with a request that the district build an addition onto the school. You can find the letter  here . We recently presented our request to the Board's Student Achievement Committee and they encouraged us to continue to have parents raise their voice at various board and committee meetings. If you would like to get involved in this effort or have any questions, please email  president@hydeparkschoolpto.org .

Teacher Conference Day Food

Teacher conferences are being held on Thursday, Sept. 26th. In appreciation of our teachers, we are asking volunteers to provide light snacks, helping our teachers stay energized through the late hours. In addition, the PTO will cater a lunch for the staff. We need your donations of food items, to be placed in the teachers' lounge. They will be able to enjoy these items throughout the day. Included are only suggestions. Please indicate in the comment section what specific items you will provide. The food can be brought to the teachers' lounge or to the office in the morning of 9/26. If you are a car rider you can pass it off to a staff member at drop off.

Sports Spotlight
Eagle of the Week- Abdoul Dia
This week we would like to recognize Abdoul Dia. Abdoul plays on one of our Passer teams and had a great week that embodied his personality and energy. He always has a positive attitude and is excited to play and be part of the team. For the first weekend of games, we did not have a jersey for him, so he wore his old jersey from last season without complaining. When he got his jersey this weekend – he was excited to be #1 and ready to play. He scored his first goal of the season, and had the biggest smile for the rest of the game. He always hustles, he has a positive attitude and is a great asset to the entire team. Congrats Abdoul!

Simply email  hps.athletics@outlook.com  by Thursday afternoon with your Eagle of the Week submissions.
Basketball Update

Thanks to everyone who registered for basketball this past week. In just 2 hours, we had 146 kids in the system with zero site crashes and no issues. That’s 92% of the total number of last year's registrations. As of today, we are sitting at 156 kids. Basketball registration will officially close on Friday, September 27th. At this point, a small number of you were placed on a wait list. This situation applied to just a few divisions. We will provide an update as soon as possible. Thanks again and go Eagles.
