Eagle of the Week
- Nora Flynn
Nora is a multi sport athlete who always participates with passion and competitiveness, yet displays great sportsmanship. During last weeks basketball clinic, Nora claimed the title, “last person standing” in musical basketballs. She competed with courage, hustle and determination to beat out the rest of the competition. Whether its at the basketball clinic, soccer or running club, Nora is often seen taking care of her teammates and offering support however it is needed. We look forward to watching you grow as a student-athlete at Hyde Park and are proud to call you an Eagle. Go Nora!
To nominate someone next week, simply email me with the name, grade and sport of the individual and a sentence or two explaining your nomination. Nominations are due by Wednesday at 5:00. Email

Athletic Service Project
We are very excited to incorporate a service aspect to our athletic program, but we need volunteers! Our first project is on 10/20 at the CRC Center at the Oakley Fields. We will help to clean up the area around the center for a couple of hours. It is an excellent way to teach our kids the importance of giving back, while supporting an organization that so many of us utilize. Please visit

to volunteer today.

Basketball Clinic
The first ever HPS Basketball Clinic was a huge success! We had 43 kids show up to learn, develop and have a blast…and they did just that. A special thank you to all over the volunteers who gave up their Friday evening to run this event, to the parents of these great kids for their constant support, and to the Booster Club for your sponsorship. HPS is now officially ready to tip-off basketball season.
