Does your child get worried about standardized testing?

Would you like to support your child through the testing process in April?

Our mental health partner agency, The Children’s Home of Cincinnati, will be providing an hour-long workshop for parents on the topic of test anxiety. The hour will be interactive, and participants will learn about the symptoms of test anxiety and how to empower yourself and your child to overcome this stress.

It will be led by Alison Savage, LPCC-S, who specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents.  She has been with The Children’s Home for over 7 years and is currently the Clinical and Professional Development Supervisor.

Please join us on Wednesday, March 21 from 6:00-7:00 in our school gym.

Notice of Change for the PTO Meeting

The PTO Meeting for April will be held on April 4 th  @ 8:00 am. This has been moved to a morning meeting to accommodate the inclusion of student presentations.

In addition to a regular meeting, we will be voting on the following amendment to the PTO bylaws, adding the elected position of Vice Treasurer. This added position will provide a more stable and solid financial transition from year to year within the PTO organization. The position will allow for a year of training under the Treasurer and ensure a smoother transition process at the end of the fiscal year.

Vice Treasurer- The Vice Treasurer shall:
  1. Assist the Treasurer and carry out the Treasurer’s duties in his or her absence or inability to serve.
  2. Following his/her initial term of office, the Vice Treasurer shall automatically, and without a vote, fill the office of Treasurer for the following year.
  3. Perform such other duties as are pertinent to the office.
Classroom Spotlight
The first graders' field trip to the Newport Aquarium went swimmingly! It was fun, educational, and timely, given the completion of their sea animal project just last week!
"Speed soccer" in gym class! According to Mr. Schwab, second graders love it! It's fast, it has no breaks, and as soon as one team scores, the next person comes out. Thanks, Mr. Schwab, for keeping HPS students happy and active!
