Thank you Hyde Park School community as we sacrifice to control the spread of the coronavirus in our community and give doctors, nurses, and hospitals the best chance to treat those in need. Many of you may be feeling isolated as public health officials order us to distance ourselves from others and community events are canceled. We encourage you to still find ways to connect with your loved ones. The great outdoors indeed are great, and technology is our friend! Create new memories in this time of temporary new normal. And remember that even while we are apart, we are in this together.

Cincinnati Public Schools Closure
|
On Monday March 16 at 5:30 p.m. CPS officials will gather for a press conference to outline the district’s plan during the three-week school closure ordered by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine to control the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). At the press conference, school board members and administrators will address meals for eligible students, minimizing disruption of specialized services, volunteer opportunities, and accepting of donations.
Parents are encouraged to continue to monitor the district’s website for more information and updates,

CPS Student Dining Services
|
The Cincinnati Public Schools Student Dining Service program will provide an opportunity for families to drive thru or walk up and pick up meals for the children in their family between the ages of 1 and 18 at a number of school sites. Per USDA regulations, children must be present in order for meals to be provided. Meal distribution sites will be set up outside in the parking lot or bus lane at each school. If driving, please stay in your car and meals will be passed through to the driver based on the number of children in the car.
Meals will be served March 17–April 3 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays each week with an additional serving day of Tuesday, March 17. All meals will be served between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. On Mondays and Wednesdays, children will receive two breakfast meals and two lunch meals. On Fridays and Tuesday, March 17, children will receive one breakfast meal and one lunch meal. All meals will exceed USDA nutritional requirements.
This program will be solely for the pick-up of meals, and meals will not be consumed on site. We encourage families to continue to be proactive in reducing the risk of COVID-19 by not congregating at the school site once meals have been distributed, continue to wash your hands often, sneeze or cough into a tissue, and stay home if you are sick. Click the image above for a full listing of locations.

All HPS athletic events have been suspended until further notice in alignment with the state and CPS officials. We are in close contact with the CPS Athletic Director and officials from the various leagues. Cincinnati Premier Youth Volleyball has already pushed the start of the season to April 17
th
and will plan to condense the season to just 4 weeks, consisting of eight games. SAY Soccer has not made an official announcement, and Knothole baseball will be meeting on Monday to review and discuss the most up to date information. But expect a delay to the start of the official seasons for both SAY Soccer and Knothole. If you have any questions regarding athletics, please do not hesitate to contact HPS Athletic Director Mike Brugh at hps.athletics@outlook.com.
Remember- just because we do not have official practice doesn’t mean your kids can’t go outside in the backyard and work on their own. Sports is a great way to release energy in a time where things may be a bit chaotic. Even if your kids are alone, there are plenty of drills and ideas online for all sports. Stay active, stay healthy!
