Drug Free Campus Policy
With our new academic year in full swing, our community's safety is a top priority.
Be sure to brush up on FIU's Drug-Free Campus/Workplace Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Policy.
This policy contains information about unlawful manufacturing, distribution, dispensation, possession, use, trade, or sale of a controlled substance or alcohol. Any violation of this policy by a university student, faculty or staff shall constitute grounds for:
- Evaluation and/or referral to treatment for drug/alcohol abuse
- Disciplinary action
- Criminal sanction
Although FIU respects an individual’s rights, such rights cannot outweigh the need to maintain a safe, productive, and drug-free work and educational environment.
