When you’re stressed, problems seem insurmountable, and it’s difficult to muster up the energy to care, let alone take action to help yourself. But you have a lot more control than you think. There are positive steps you can take to deal with overwhelming stress and to get your life back into balance. One of the most effective ways is reaching out to others.
Social contact is nature’s antidote to stress and talking face-to-face is one of the fastest ways to calm your nervous system and relieve stress. The Gathering Place is a support group that meets the first Friday of every month at 12 p.m. to explore ways to counter stress overload, bolster your mood, improve your outlook, and preserve your mental well-being.
This group will provide a safe and nurturing environment where attendees can feel heard, understood, and cared for.
