October marks Depression Awareness Month, and the Office of Employee Assistance (OEA) is focused on using this time to bring depression into the light.

Despite being called the “invisible illness,” the signs of depression are often in plain sight. It’s ok to be seen, to ask for help, and it’s ok to not be ok. By dispelling myths and misconceptions about the condition, we can work towards destigmatizing depression, making it easier to talk about and ensuring that help is available to those who need it.

If you or a loved one are experiencing depression, we encourage you to take a quick, scientifically backed, mental health screening. This screening is secure, confidential, and free. In less than two minutes after completion, you'll receive a personalized report with expert guidance and resources to help you take the next step with confidence.

Help is within reach! Be sure to contact the OEA for more information or to schedule a complementary and confidential consultation.

Questions? Contact the Office of Employee Assistance at (305) 348-2469.

“What mental health needs is more sunlight, more candor, and more unashamed conversation.” – Glenn Close.

For Depression Awareness month, the OEA invites you to the new Mental Health Matters virtual workshops. Attendees will explore mental illness prevalence, stigma, risk factors, warning signs, emotional resilience practices, available resources and much more.
