California implemented multiple new 2023 HR regulations Most changes are effective on January 1st.   Add “reproductive health decision-making” to the list of protected characteristics under FEHA to EEO and Harassment policies. Add “The Company shall not require, as a condition of employment, continued employment, or a benefit of employment, the disclosure of information relating to an applicant’s or employee’s reproductive health decision-making “ to EEO policy: Add additional protections under the EEO policy Add Designated Person for CFRA leave and paid sick leave policies, plus definitions for each Add information on contacting the EDD to State Disability and Paid Family Leave sections Add reasonable and religious accommodation sections Add Rehabilitation Leave Add a section for Medical Leave as a Reasonable Accommodation Change references from DFEH to California Civil Rights Department, and the link in the harassment policy for training to: https://calcivilrights.ca.gov/shpt/ Expand Pregnancy disability Modify Bereavement Leave Policy to provide at least five days of unpaid leave mandatory – (paid leave still optional) Remove excessive garnishments from Standards of Conduct Remove from Dress and Grooming standards that time to go home and change will be without pay Remove resignation section Revise Cellular Telephone Use, Standards of Conduct, and Workplace Violence policies. Add language re-accessing the employee’s cellular telephone for seeking emergency assistance, assessing the safety of an emergency situation, or communicating with a person to verify their safety. Revise Drug and Alcohol Abuse section to include new legislation Split out Crime Victim’s Leave for judicial relief and safety Update attendance policy to include provisions for Paid Sick Leave Update documentation requirements for Crime Victim’s Leave Update leaves for school visitation leave
