EEO-1 Report Filing Deadline March 31, 2019: How to Comply so You Don't Get Fined
Alert: Filing the Employer Information Report (EEO-1) is mandatory for employers with 100 or more employees and for federal contractors with 50 or more employees, and the filing deadlines for 2018 is coming up fast on March 31, 2019.

Meeting EEO-1 report filing obligations often creates a host of HR--and we've got answers, including what is meant on the EEOC's website where it states that for the 2018 EEO-1, the EEOC "will continue to collect race, ethnicity and gender data by job category."

Use this on-demand webinar  when Attorney Nita Beecher of Fortney & Scott, LLC will update you on what's changed and what's the same so you're well prepared to accurately file the necessary information for the annual EEO-1 survey.

Review Your Company Dating Policy in Light of #MeToo Movement
By Allen Smith
Dating policies have become pretty common among employers of all sizes. But with the advent of the #MeToo movement, legal experts say employers should give their policies another look to be sure they are logical, easy to follow and are presented in the best light to employees.

Sometimes referred to as fraternization or anti-dating policies, these rules typically are designed to manage romantic relations in the workplace. To be sure, dating is common among employees: 36 percent have gone out with a co-worker, 30 percent have dated someone in a higher position than them, and 22 have had a workplace romance with their boss, according to a 2018 CareerBuilder survey. While some of these relationships work out well or end on pleasant terms, others turn into bitter break-ups that ultimately lead to legal issues.

For example, employers should be particularly aware of the risks of future harassment claims and favoritism that may result from a supervisor dating a subordinate. Read more.
Maintaining and Posting Records

OSHA posting beginning February 1 for covered employees.

Each February through April, employers must post a summary of the injuries and illnesses recorded the previous year. Also, if requested, copies of the records must be provided to current and former employees, or their representatives. Click here for more information.
