HR Advantage will be hosting its annual Spring Workshop. We have a great line up of local professionals such as Jennifer Mueller
Baird Lightner Millsap Harpool) and Marlene Chism (Author/Speaker) and several more..... that will be presenting the latest material on employment law, workplace practices and disciplinary action and termination.
Are you in violation of one of the FIVE
Workplace Laws mentioned?
Telling employees that they can't discuss their salary with co-workers. The National Labor Relations Act says that employers can't prevent most employees from discussing wages among themselves. The reason for that is that employees can't effectively organize or unionize if they're not permitted to discuss wages or uncover potential inequities. **Despite the law, an astonishing number of employers have policies against this anyway - so many that most people think these policies normal and have no idea that they violate the law.

I was recently reading an online report by the Gallup organization called "State of the American Manager:Analytics and Advice for Leaders." What struck me was some of the statistics that came up in the report.
- Only 30% of US employees are engaged at work.
- The percentage of engaged employees has changed little in 12 years.
- Managers account for at least 70% of the variance in employee engagement scores across business units.
- Organizations fail to choose the candidate with the right talent for management 82% of the time.
The evolution of technology in the workplace is accelerating. As employers implement new tech solutions to attract, retain, and engage top talent, they must also prepare for the risks of the digital age.
