HRDC 7 Helps Households impacted by COVID-19
HRDC7 is dedicated to assisting households that have been impacted by COVID-19. If you have experienced the loss of a job or income due to the pandemic, we may be able to help.  Through the agency’s Adaptive Technology Program; eligible participants affected by the virus can receive supportive services that help them continue their education, or find a job.
HRDC’s VITA Program, (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) is currently processing 2020 tax returns. VITA is now accepting appointments. Call 406-247-4710
To check the status of your IRS tax refund using “Where’s My Refund?,” you’ll need:
  • Your SSN or ITIN
  • Your tax filing status
  • The exact amount of the refund you claimed
  • Visit: www.irs.gov/refunds
AmeriCorps members in the VISTA program at VITA
We welcomed this lovely group from the VISTA program to the agency to help finish up the VITA season. They come to us all the way from the east coast, and are looking forward to taking in some Montana culture while they are here.
Coming Soon: Montana Emergency Rental Assistance Program
The Montana Emergency Rental Assistance program will provide rent and utility assistance to Montanans who have been financially impacted, directly or indirectly, by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Renters will be able to apply directly for rent and utility assistance, and landlords will be able to apply on behalf of renters with the renter’s co-signature and required documentation.
Renters will need to provide income documentation to verify program eligibility. To streamline the application review process, we recommend renters file their 2020 tax return now and have that document available to submit when the program opens for applications.
The program is still being developed, but you can begin preparing for your application.

President Biden Announces Vaccine Priority for Child 
Care, Head Start, and Early Childhood Settings
"Over 30 states have already taken steps to prioritize educators for vaccination. And today, I'm using the full authority of the federal government. I'm directing every state to do the same. My challenge to all states, territories, and the District of Columbia is this: We want every educator, school staff member, childcare worker to receive at least one shot by the end of the month of March." - President Joe Biden
 
On March 1, 2021, President Biden announced that he is directing states to prioritize teachers, early educators, and child care staff for COVID-19 vaccination. He issued a challenge to states to provide at least the first vaccine dose to teachers and early educators by the end of the month. This includes pre-kindergarten through 12th grade teachers, people who work in child care centers, family child care providers, and Head Start and Early Head Start program staff. Vaccines will be available in pharmacy locations. Staff in child care, Head Start, and other early childhood settings will be able to sign up for appointments.
 
The Partnership is encouraged by this announcement given the number of Community Action Agencies that operate Head Start, Early Head Start, and child care programs. We look forward to sharing more information as it becomes available.
