HRPDC-Endorsed GO Virginia Projects, Advance to State GO Virginia Board
The two GO Virginia applications endorsed by the HRPDC were submitted to the GO Virginia Regional Council for funding consideration on October 31st. Applications for the Hampton Roads Unmanned Systems Initiative and the Hampton Roads Broadband Initiative were a collaborative effort between the HRPDC staff and staffs from the participating localities. HOME Program Funding Available for Qualified First-Time Homebuyers in Chesapeake
In partnership with the City of Chesapeake, the HRPDC now offers down payment and/or closing cost assistance to qualified first-time homebuyers who desire to purchase a new or existing home in the city of Chesapeake, Virginia. The 2017-2018 HOME Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and designed to expand the supply of the affordable housing to low and moderate income families in Chesapeake. At its October meeting the HRPDC approved its Regional Legislative Priorities for the 2018 General Assembly. Together with the Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization's (HRTPO) Regional Legislative Priorities, Hampton Roads General Assembly members have a guide to the regional issues and projects important in Hampton Roads.
