RECENT UPDATE: CERF REBRANDED TO CALIFORNIA JOBS FIRST | |
On October 12, at the 2023 California Economic Summit hosted by California Forward, it was announced that CERF would be rebranded to California Jobs First. According to Dee Dee Meyers, senior advisor to the Governor and director of the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), this rebranding signals an evolution to California’s signature regional economic development program. “Not only did we want to rebrand CERF, we wanted to bring together the work in this area more broadly,” Meyers said. The rebranding highlights a strengthened commitment to initial program objectives: equity, climate, job quality and access, economic competitiveness, and economic resilience. Additionally, California Jobs First will focus on continued engagement in systems-change work that centers disinvested communities.
A full roll-out of the rebranding will take place in early 2024.
