All HS^2 students must complete a total of 2.0 credits of outreach by the time they graduate. Last Friday, the Freshmen and Sophomore classes attended an informational advisory session to learn about all of the unique outreach opportunities offered within HS^2. Each of the three rotations were led by student presenters who were able to speak about their outreach experiences and answer any questions. The presentation can be accessed via this link.
Digital Literacy in Healthcare
Digital Literacy in Healthcare is a new Dual Credit class offered in HS^2 where students learn the programs within the Microsoft Office Suite: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and more! Students learn the programs through the creation and manipulation of healthcare related documents. After the course is complete, the students have the opportunity to take the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification Exam.
One of the documents the students created was related to Influenza (flu). As flu season approaches us, the students felt this was a good time to share the assignment in the hopes of helping further educate our community!
Interpreting the MyLC Parent Digest!
If you've signed up to receive the MyLC parent digest, you should've started recieving an email every Monday. Each email is broken down into 2-3 sections: Recent & Upcoming Tasks, Recent Evidence Submissions, and Recent Teacher Notes. The email should give you a quick snapshot of how your learner is progressing towards their yearly goals, hopefully prompting any necessary conversations and/or celebrations!

Volunteer Opportunity
Support a local hospital organization by applying to volunteer for Aurora Medical Center Summit! Please note that all volunteers must be at least 15 years of age, fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by October 15, 2021, receive an annual flu vaccination, and be able to commit to a minimum of 64 volunteer hours during a calendar year.

Join the HS^2 Inktober Challenge!
Inktober is an event that occurs during October to encourage people to develop their art skills. A list of 31 one-word prompts is made available before October begins and the idea is to make one drawing a day based on the prompt. We would like to invite anyone and everyone to join our Inktober challenge!
