New Year and Back To "HS^2 Normal"!

With the New Year upon us, the HS^2 staff and students came back from Winter Break and returned to the "HS^2 Normal". This means we returned to our normal course schedule throughout the week, while also keeping our ever changing "Green Days" on Wednesdays.

With the conclusion of 1st Semester happening on January 21st, the students have a couple of weeks left to finalize any courses that are concluding in order to end with a transcripted grade that reflects their learning best. While some HS^2 courses are ending, any HS^2 all-year-long courses will not have a grade transcripted until the end of the school year!

Upcoming No School Days

January 17 & January 24 - These dates are Campus wide Professional Development days for the staff. Students will have no school on these days.

January 21 - This is an HS^2 ONLY no school day. The HS^2 Staff will be meeting all day to work on school improvement and developement. While HS^2 students will not have any HS^2 course expectations on this day, they still will be required to attend their Legacy courses.

HS^2 Inclement Weather Plan

In case of inclement weather, HS^2 will switch to distance learning rather than having snow days. This document outlines the expectations of students for each class for 2021-22. If a student has a Legacy class, they will follow the instructions outlined by that teacher.

Join us for Coffee on February 2

Thank you to the parents that were able to join us for coffee on January 5! Our next parent coffee will be on February 2 from 9:30 - 10:15 am at HS^2! This informal opportunity will allow current and future Parents and Guardians to learn more about the school, with a focus on school operations, community partnerships, outreach, and volunteering. Please complete this google form if you are interested in joining us on February 2!

Meet the Students ~ Ari K

What do you like about HS^2?

Ari really likes the small HS^2 community - how everyone knows each other and everyone is chill and kind.

Why did you choose to come to HS^2?

Ari wanted to focus on the health field and follow in the footsteps of his two sisters, who were HS^2 graduates.

What do you do outside of school?

Ari works at Walgreens outside of school, enjoys cross country, track and field, and is on the trap and sporting clays team.

What outreach experience have you had? Any highlights?

Ari took the EMR course last year. He learned a lot, and enjoyed being at the Firehouse. His favorite moment was learning how to use the stair chair.

What are your future goals?

Ari wants to become a doctor.

What should people know about HS^2?

Ari wants everyone to know how amazing it is to be in HS^2!

HS^2 Enrollment Now Open!

The early enrollment application window for the 2022-23 window opened on January 4, 2022 at 8:00 am and will close on January 21, 2022 at noon. Please spread the word if you know anyone who is interested in enrolling in HS^2. For more information click HERE . The second enrollment application window will start on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 8:00 am and will remain open.
