Dear CVHS Families,
October 19th - 4 day in-person attendance starts at the HS & MS!
Please be sure to look for the letter that was emailed home on Friday the 16th, which contains specific information regarding the HS reopening plan for this week. Parents now have three options for their children to attend (outlined below). If you would like to switch attendance groups, we are encouraging families to wait until the end of each quarter before emailing their school counselors or principals to make and attendance group change so that our students and faculty have more continuity in their daily school program.
If you would like to make a change, parents, not students, should email their child’s counselor or any of the three HS principals. October 26 marks the end of the 1st quarter, so if you would like to make a change, please do so before the end of this week.
Here are the three attendance groups, starting on Monday the 19th:
4 Day in-person: Students attend in-person classes Monday through Thursday with Friday as a remote, cyber day.
2 day in person: Parkway students and students with thh last names starting A-K attend in-person on Mondays and Tuesdays with cyber days from Wednesday-Friday. L-Z students attend in-person on Wednesdays and Thursdays with Monday, Tuesday and Friday as remote, cyber days.
Full time CV Cyber - Students participate in remote learning all five days of the week.
A few reminders:
Attendance for Hybrid Learning - On days when your child is required to attend school in person, they must be in the building, or they will be marked absent. Although the hybrid model allows for students to keep up with their work when absent, they are absent nonetheless. If they are not in attendance, an excuse must be provided per the building handbook or it will be deemed an unexcused absence.
Learning Expectations - Teachers are introducing new instructional material each school day. They have designed a sequence of instructional activities for remote students comparable to what students would be completing in person. CV Cyber and hybrid home days are NOT review days. Students must complete the work assigned each school day in order to experience the full scope and sequence of the curriculum.
Google Meet - Many classes are meeting live through Google Meet. Please remind your students to follow the live meeting rules established by their teacher when joining a remote live meeting. Remember: photo, video, and audio recordings are not permitted. Teachers may record meetings to be used for instructional opportunities.
