A monthly message from Dr. Vanatta
Chartiers Valley Parents, Guardians, and Students,

As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, we are reminded to pause and reflect on all we are grateful for.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the Chartiers Valley community -- from our students who greet me with their ambition and kindness daily, to our teachers and staff who work to support our students and their families, to the parents who play an integral role in the education of their children. On behalf of all of us here at CV, I thank you for all you do!

At times, especially during the busy holiday season, life can feel so face-paced. We race through daily routines and juggle numerous responsibilities. In these moments, I am reminded of the importance of teaching our students to pause — or at least slow down — and be present. This year, we are piloting mindfulness programs in our elementary schools and exploring ways to incorporate aspects of mindfulness in our secondary schools.

Hopefully, during the Thanksgiving break you will have a moment to press “pause” and enjoy the people and things you are thankful for. Again, thank you all for making Chartiers Valley School District one of the best districts in Pennsylvania; I am so thankful for you!
