Final Exam Schedule

As we approach the end of the school year, please review the final exam schedule for the upcoming days and class periods.

If a student is absent for a scheduled exam, it is their responsibility to arrange a make-up time with the teacher. While planned absences during finals are strongly discouraged, if unavoidable, students must coordinate with their teacher in advance to schedule an alternate exam time.

Please note that students may not reschedule exams for convenience. Following the scheduled exam times ensures a fair and smooth process for all students.

CVCC Seniors Complete Programs

This week, our senior students who attend the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center successfully completed their two-year career technical education programs. We are incredibly excited for these students as they are now prepared to directly enter the workforce or continue developing their skills through college and advanced career technical programs.

We are especially proud to recognize five Bees who were selected as the Most Outstanding Student in their respective programs. Congratulations to Jadyn Brooks from Fire and EMS, Melinda Geringer from Health Careers, Caleb Styskal from Machine Technology, Daniel Vleck from Power Equipment Technology, and Eleri Watkins from Sports Medicine and Exercise Science on this outstanding recognition.

Seniors' Final Week!

AP Exams Continue

AP exams begin next week. Students should have already received an email from Mrs. Jonozzo with detailed testing instructions. If you have not received this email, a link to the message is available here.

Students are well prepared for these exams and are encouraged to continue reviewing using AP Classroom and their College Board accounts for practice tests and study materials.

Please note: students are not permitted to arrive late or leave early on scheduled exam days without prior approval and are expected to attend their regular class schedule when not testing.

2026-27 Student Privilege / Open Campus Forms

As we begin to finalize scheduling for the 2026–2027 school year, students who qualify and wish to request Open Campus will now have this privilege added directly to their schedules before the school year begins. 

For Open Campus to appear on your schedule when schedules are released on May 29th students must fill out the Open Campus Permission Application, have it signed by a parent, and upload the application to the Open Campus Request Google Form by Friday, May 22nd!  Any forms received after May 22nd will not be processed until we come back to school in August.

Open Campus privileges are only open to students in the Class of 2027 and the Class of 2028.  

Students in the Class of 2029 whose final schedule allows for late arrival or early dismissal will be eligible to apply for late arrival/early dismissal at the start of the school year.

To be eligible, students must complete the following steps:

1. Review Open Campus Privilege Requirements
2. Complete the Student Privilege/Open Campus Permission Application
3. Upload a picture of the signed Open Campus Application to the Open Campus Request Google Form.
4. Have School Fee Balance Paid in Full

Both steps Must be Completed for Your Request to be Reviewed!

Updated School Fee Statements Now Available

Please note that current fee statements were emailed to parents and guardians as of May 1st. We ask all families to carefully review their child’s current fee statement at this time.

We respectfully remind families of the importance of reconciling all outstanding school fee accounts—especially for our juniors and seniors, as carrying an outstanding fee balance may result in restrictions on important student privileges, such as eligibility for open campus, the ability to secure a parking pass for next school year, participation in school events, and eligibility to participate in commencement.

To access your student fees account or pay your child's fee balance please visit the district’s secure online payment platform, PaySchools Central. Fees may also be paid by sending cash or a check (payable to BBHHS) to the Main Office or the school cafe for lunch balances.

If you have questions or need assistance regarding your child’s account, please don’t hesitate to contact the school administration. We appreciate your attention to this important matter and your partnership in supporting your child’s eligibility for school privileges.

Parking Pass Sales for 26-27 Begin This School Year

The PSO sale of personalized parking spaces for seniors will take place on Tuesday, June 2nd at 2:00 p.m. and Wednesday, June 3rd at 2:00 p.m. These personalized spaces will be sold by the PSO and cost $25.

During the sale, PSO volunteers will handle the payment process (only cash or check made payable to BBHHS PSO), collect the student’s personalized space design, confirm the parking space application is complete, confirm the students selected parking space (first-come, first-served), and complete the necessary paperwork to confirm the purchase of a space for 26-27

In order to be eligible to purchase a personalized parking space, all school fees must be paid, and the student parking application must be completed in advance. The parking application and space design requirements for 26-27 will be shared with the Class of '26 and their parents the week of May 11th.

After July 1, BBHHS staff will add the $60 parking pass fee to each student’s account who purchased a personalized space. Families will then be able to complete payment for the parking pass at that time.

General parking pass sales for the 26-27 school year, for juniors and sophomores (who are not eligible to purchase personalized spaces) will begin on August 4. To obtain a parking pass, students must complete the parking pass application and ensure that all school fees are paid. Those students will receive the parking application this July

Please plan ahead to meet these requirements if your student wishes to secure a parking pass or personalized space for the upcoming school year.

Final Exam Waiver Opportunity

We are excited to share that the Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School faculty and administration have once again adjusted final exam requirements for courses that have an associated end-of-course assessment structure. Students will have the option to waive the required final exam for courses where significant data points are already available to teachers, students, and families.   

Students will also still be given the opportunity to take the final exam for any course if they and the teacher agree that it is in the student’s best interest to demonstrate achievement and learning. We believe this change will positively impact students and reduce the time they spend preparing for exams where sufficient evidence of learning exists.  

Courses Eligible for Final Exam Waiver Include:

• All College Board Advanced Placement courses
• College Credit Plus English 1020
• College Credit Plus Calculus 2023  

Ohio State Test-Assessed Courses (EOCs)

• Block, Academic, and Algebra I Lab
• Block, Academic English Language Arts 10, and Honors American Lit
• Block, Academic Geometry, and Honors Geometry  
• Academic Biology and Honors Biology 
• Academic Government and Honors American Government
• Academic American History and Honors Academic History 

Advanced Placement and CCP Course Final Exam Waiver Structure 

To ensure students are well prepared for their Advanced Placement exam and to qualify for the final exam waiver, the student must demonstrate/agree to the following criteria for exam waiver consideration for Advanced Placement courses: 

• Students must take the Advanced Placement exam for the associated course
• Students must be on track to earn a C or better for the final grade in the course
• Agree that the 4th quarter grade is “carried over” and factored into the student's final grade
• Students will have the opportunity to take a final exam at their request during the regularly scheduled exam period for the course*

Ohio State Test-Assessed Courses 

Students taking courses with an Ohio State Test component can also waive the final exam requirement. To ensure students are well prepared for their Ohio State Test and to qualify for the final exam waiver, the student must demonstrate/agree to the following criteria for exam waiver consideration for all scheduled Ohio State Test courses:

• Students must take the Ohio State Test as scheduled for the associated course
• Students must be on track to earn a C or better for the final grade in the course 
• Students must earn a score of a 5, 4, 3, on their Ohio State Exam (students scoring 2 or a 1 must take the scheduled exam)

Students will have the following options to select from to determine their final exam grade:

• Tie Final Exam grade tied to the earned EOC score (5-A, 4-B, 3-C, Scores of 2 or 1-must take final)

-or-

• 4th Quarter Grade Extends to Final Exam grade
• Students will have the opportunity to take a final exam at their request during the regularly scheduled exam period for the course*

This Week at BBHHS!

This week at BBHHS we begin by honoring our Boys’ Lacrosse and Boys' Tennis players during Senior Night, recognizing their commitment and representation to our school.

Speaking of Boys' Tennis, they have won the Suburban League title this year! This a tremendous accomplishment as the Suburban League National Conference is one of the premier conferences in NEO. The boys are now ready for playoff tennis! Congratulations to the team and Coach Dan Reynolds.

Our teachers were treated to a special moment of appreciation thanks to the PSO, who provided a generous luncheon to show gratitude for all the hard work our staff puts in each day. It was a week for our educators to feel truly valued.

On the athletic front, Boys’ Volleyball had an incredible day at the Shaker Heights tournament, going 3-0 and capturing the championship with a commanding win over Berkshire. The team now sets its sights on the post-season tournament, beginning Tuesday, May 12 at Amherst Steele.

Softball senior Rowan Weber continues to make history with a remarkable career, now boasting 40 home runs and 125 hits—an achievement that speaks to her dedication and talent.

Finally, we were thrilled to recognize BBHHS teacher Greg Roderick as this year’s Friend of the PSO. Mr. Roderick's unwavering support for both the school and the community is exemplary, and we are proud to honor him for his contributions.
