Freshmen and New Student Orientation Program & Schedule Pick-up
We are excited to begin welcoming our freshmen class and new students to Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School for the 2021-2022 school year. The ninth grade experience is the foundation for a successful high school experience. To help make the transition from eighth to ninth grade as effective as possible, a freshman orientation program will be conducted by our National Honor Society to aide incoming students with the transition to BBHHS. The orientation program will take place for all freshmen and incoming new students on August 11th from 1:00 pm till 2:30 p.m. in the BBHHS Auditorium.

Students in attendance will receive their class schedule, their student issued Chromebook, take tours of the campus, meet with the BBHHS administration & counseling department and have an opportunity for a Q & A with members of our National Honor Society. Parents of incoming students do not need to attend the daytime orientation program. At the conclusion of the program students will be dismissed from the main entrance doors for pickup in the upper parking lot.

Students who are not able to attend the scheduled orientation date will be able to access their schedule via ProgressBook on Friday, August 13th in the afternoon. A series of YouTube videos will also be emailed to students entering 9th grade and who are new to the district on Friday, August 13th that will reflect topics covered during the orientation program.

Freshmen Parent and New Student Parent Night
A Freshman/New Student Parent Orientation Meeting will be held also on August 11th starting at 7:00 p.m. in the BBHHS auditorium. The parent information evening will consist of discussions regarding school policies, the student code of conduct, information regarding sponsored school extracurricular activities & events, exposure to the four year plan, graduation requirements and other institutional information that will help families better understand the academic program offered.

The BBBHS administration and members of the high school counseling department will be available to answer any questions incoming BBHHS families may have. Students are permitted to attend the evening parent informational session along with their parents but are not required to do so. At the conclusion of the evening presentation families will be permitted to take self-guided tours of the BBHHS campus.

Summer Assignment Reminders and School Supplies
With summer drawing to a close it is important that students complete any required summer course work assigned to them based on their course selections from last year's course scheduling process. Many courses have required summer reading and/or suggested work to be completed in order to start the new school year successfully. This is especially true for students enrolled in many of our Honors or Advanced Placement courses. The following link can be utilized and compared to the students emailed course selection sheet that was emailed to the student prior to the conclusion of this past school year for reference related to any required summer course work obligations.
