Senior Parent Night and Senior College & Career Counseling
Ms. Owens & Mr. Drypolcher recently completed visits to all Senior English classes to share pertinent information related to graduation, the college application process, requesting and securing letters of recommendation, applying for financial aid, completing the Common Application, and much more.

Click here to access the presentation and be sure to review the Senior Packet that was distributed to students during these meetings. Seniors are encouraged to schedule one-on-one meetings with their assigned College and Career counselor for more individualized guidance and support in regards to the college application process. To schedule an appointment with Ms. Owens or Mr. Drypolcher please click here.

In addition to the class meetings the BBHHS Counseling Department will be hosting a Senior Parent Night at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 20th in the BBHHS Auditorium. The counselors will cover the pivotal role the parent/guardian plays in the college application process and offer resources and tips for how to best prepare for this process. The event will not be livestreamed but information highlighted during the presentation will will be posted on the BBHHS counseling website at the conclusion of the presentation. Families are strongly encouraged to attend this in-person event.

BinaxNOW Covid-19 Test
The BBHCSD is once again making the BinaxNOW rapid antigen COVID-19 test available at each of our school buildings. Offering these tests gives you the ability to rapidly identify symptomatic individuals who are part of our school family. Simple to administer and producing accurate results in less than 15 minutes, the district encourages you to take advantage of requesting a BinaxNOW rapid test if your student, or members of your family demonstrate symptoms associated with COVID-19. A negative test means an individual can continue normal activities but should remain vigilant in following guidelines such as washing hands, wearing masks where appropriate and staying socially distanced. If the test is positive, the person is advised to see his or her family physician. Please know that if you request a BinaxNOW test the District is also required to report the results. Ultimately, the BBHCSD believes that its participation in distributing the BinaxNOW tests will help to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Please take advantage responsibly, as needed.

Teen Driving ROADeo
Sarah Nelson Volleyball Match
In 1984, the Brecksville-Broadview Heights school community suffered a tragic loss when Sarah Nelson, a student and volleyball player here at BBH, passed away. Sarah brought great joy to her family, friends and to anyone who knew her……and she lived her life committed to always putting other people before herself, which she did every moment of her life.  This Saturday, 9/11, we will remember and celebrate Sarah's life with the 37th Annual Sarah E. Nelson Memorial Volleyball Day. Games begin at 1:30pm in the BBH Varsity Gym.

Reset and Restart
As our school community continues to deal with new positive cases of COVID-19 among our students and staff, the District is compelled to be prepared to safely deal with individuals or classes who have become exposed. At the present time, the BBHCSD has two paths to follow upon learning that a positive case has surfaced in one of our school buildings, and how we handle incidents of exposure.

The District encourages you to review this Spread Mitigation protocol, which has been posted on the COVID-19 Resources Page of our website, so that you can see the difference between the two decision-making pathways the BBHCSD leadership will follow to keep our students and staff safe in the event of positive cases in any of our buildings.

Our primary objective remains to keep students and staff learning in-person. However, the stark realities of trying to do so, recognizing that positive cases are intermittently emerging, require District leaders to be prepared to keep students learning as safely as possible. We ask for your continued patience and flexibility.

Earlier this week Mrs. Magyar shared our Reset and Restart guidance for Covid-19 protocols. Wearing masks will be strongly recommended for the 2021-2022 School Year for all students and staff. Masks will be required, however, when utilizing buses and District transportation. The BBHCSD has outlined a number of important protocols and procedures and posted them on our website in a document entitled 2021-2022 School Year Reset and Restart Guiding Practices. Please take a moment to review this document before the first day of school. Additionally, the District will continue monitoring COVID-19 cases and will follow the quarantine guidance from the Ohio Department of Health. You can read more about the quarantine decision-making flow chart by clicking here as well as an important quarantine fact sheet with this link.
